案僧亮曰：二俱無者，上說有麁，麁不須了。若本無麁，麁了何所了？若言了無令有者，亦應能生；佉陀羅樹若本有燒，燒不得生。不一時者，責三相不一時用事。黑蜜治冷者，明法從緣異，無定性也。

Sengliang comments: Regarding 'both are absent': above, it was said that coarseness exists, but coarseness does not need illumination. If coarseness originally did not exist, what would coarseness illuminate? If one says it illuminates non-existence to make it exist, it should also be able to produce it; if a khadira tree originally contained burning, burning could not arise. Regarding 'not simultaneous': he faults the three marks for not functioning simultaneously. Regarding 'dark honey cures cold': this clarifies that phenomena differ according to conditions and have no fixed nature.
