56.86

案僧亮曰：第五難，證萬善是性，離善無性也。寶亮曰：略舉緣因，謂能成佛者，唯此緣因。故知無有正因佛性，但是緣因也。

Sengliang states: The fifth objection: he adduces that the ten thousand goods are the nature, and apart from good there is no nature. Baoliang states: He briefly raises the contributory cause (pratyaya-hetu), meaning that what can accomplish buddhahood is only this contributory cause; therefore we know there is no direct cause (janma-hetu / kāraṇa) buddhadhātu, but merely contributory causes.
