案僧亮曰：此下明修義也。寶亮曰：第二段，明修道得法不得法也。但自為不兼於物，名不得法。此下有三翻明義也。

Sengliang remarks: "From here down, he explains the meaning of cultivation." Baoliang says: "In the second section, he clarifies whether cultivating the path is according to the Dharma or not according to the Dharma. Acting only for oneself and not including other beings is called 'not according to the Dharma.' From here down, there are three turns explaining the meaning."
