案僧亮曰：修道之第七文，次遣著以明道也。道者，忘懷為德。如其存住，即便背道。今就此門中有三翻，皆是遣執也。
Sengliang comments: "The seventh passage on cultivating the Way dispels attachment to illuminate the Way. The Way takes forgetting mental conceits as its virtue. If one preserves 'abiding', one immediately turns against the Way. Now within this section there are three turns, all dispelling attachment."
