案僧亮曰：此下有三關難所執我。此即第一難，謂根非我，應如人向之異，一向之中具見聞也。

Sengliang comments: "Hereafter there are three passes of objections against their posited self. This is the first objection, stating that the faculty is not the self; it should be like the difference between a person and a window: within a single window, seeing and hearing would both be fully present."
