6.39

案僧亮曰：佛得常故，名為住也。為物涅槃，佛不滅也。僧宗曰：向指大眾，今指如來，明同得不異耳。入者，謂丈六之迹。緣盡反真，約應不現，故言入也。

Sengliang states: "Because the Buddha has attained permanence, it is called 'abiding.' Nirvāṇa is for the sake of living beings; the Buddha is not extinguished." Sengzong states: "Previously he pointed to the great assembly; now he points to the Tathāgata, clarifying that their attainment is identical and not different. 'Entering' refers to the traces of the sixteen-foot body. When conditions are exhausted, he returns to the real; with respect to the responsive manifestation not appearing, it is therefore said that he 'enters.'"
