案僧亮曰：業已久滅，果在後生，此理難見，喜生疑謗，故言深心也。僧宗曰：將答所問，故先致歎也。

Sengliang states: Karma has long since ceased, yet the fruit arises later; this principle is difficult to perceive and easily gives rise to doubts and slander, hence it is said to be [pondered with] a profound mind. Sengzong states: About to answer what was asked, he therefore first offers praise.
