63.19

案僧亮曰：先答父慈等也。雖復教有先後，而不違慈義，以譬佛慈等無偏也。寶亮曰：此下先答第二難也。我久知其當斷善根，故於爾許年中接引說法，為後世作益也。

Sengliang notes: He first answers regarding the father's compassion being equal. Although there is prior and posterior in teaching, it does not violate the meaning of compassion; this serves as a metaphor showing that the Buddha's compassion is equal and without partiality. Baoliang says: From here downward he first answers the second difficulty: 'I long knew that he would sever his roots of goodness; therefore, over all those years I guided him and preached the Dharma to him to create benefit for future lives.'
