案僧亮曰：上說知根，未說知根之利也。而聽善星出家，不得佛法之利，以迹而觀似不知人利，故發問也。

Sengliang comments: Above, the knowledge of faculties was explained, but the benefit of knowing faculties was not yet explained. Yet permitting Sunakkhatta to go forth as a monastic did not yield the benefit of the Buddha's Dharma; judging by outward traces, he seemed not to know human benefit, hence the question is raised.
