案僧亮曰：上言未生無果，今問其生義也。道慧記曰：問意以未來無善，云何能生於善耶？

Sengliang notes: "Above it was said that what has not arisen has no fruit; now he asks about the principle of its arising." Daohui's Records state: "The intent of the question is: since the future lacks goodness, how can it produce goodness?"
