案僧亮曰：上云先得，今問為先得道？為先得果？為定之也。寶亮曰：問有兩關，一問苦忍、二問超越人也。

Sengliang states: Above, it was said ‘attained first’; now he asks, is it having attained the path first, or having attained the fruit first? It is to determine this. Baoliang states: The question has two junctures: first, asking about the forbearance of suffering; second, asking about one who transcends.
