67.14

案僧亮曰：若使乳酪二性是一者，則應互為因果也。僧宗曰：並責也。若使因中有果者，果中亦應有因也。智秀曰：第二難也。既云一時有，則同有也。

Sengliang comments: If the two natures of milk and curd were one and the same, they ought to serve mutually as cause and effect. Sengzong says: He challenges both sides together. If an effect exists within the cause, a cause ought also to exist within the effect. Zhixiu says: This is the second objection. Since it is said that both exist at the same time, then they equally exist.
