案僧亮曰：若五味次第已有者，不應假言一切法皆假外也。智秀曰：第二復次，反責不應次第也。

Sengliang comments: If the sequence of the five flavors already existed, one should not artificially claim that all dharmas rely on external [elements]. Zhixiu says: The second subsequent argument turns the challenge back: there should not be a sequence.
