69.24

案僧亮曰：不造新業、壞故業者，十二因緣總三苦，見三苦壞一切業也。觀一切地獄者，觀苦苦也。復觀人天者，別觀壞苦也。深觀三界諸苦者，別觀行苦也。智者若能觀苦八種者，總結也。

Sengliang states: 'Not creating new karma and destroying old karma': the twelve links of dependent origination subsume the three sufferings; seeing the three sufferings destroys all karma. 'Contemplating all hells' is contemplating the suffering of suffering. 'Further contemplating humans and gods' specifically contemplates the suffering of change. 'Deeply contemplating all sufferings of the three realms' specifically contemplates the suffering of conditioned existence. 'If a wise person can contemplate the eight kinds of suffering' is the general conclusion.
