70.105

案僧亮曰：先尼心樂四法，以我為常樂。若我從倒說，內外皆無，故問云：瞿曇何緣復說常耶？今答云：滅內外入，名之為淨，非求無常也。汝以內外入是常，所以是倒也。

Sengliang remarks: Śreṇika's mind delighted in the four dharmas, taking the self to be permanent and blissful. If the self is spoken of in terms of inverted views, both inner and outer are nonexistent; hence he asked: 'Gautama, on what grounds do you again speak of permanence?' Now the Buddha answers: 'Extinguishing the inner and outer sense bases is termed purity; it is not seeking impermanence. Because you take the inner and outer sense bases to be permanent, you are inverted.'"
