70.63

案僧亮曰：謂在作不失遍、在滅不失常，以舍譬身，以舍主譬我。舍燒主出，主常舍無常。何咎？寶亮曰：以世喭為證，世人亦言燒舍，不言燒主也。

Sengliang states: He means that being within creation it does not lose its pervasiveness, and being within cessation it does not lose its permanence. He uses a house to illustrate the body and the master of the house to illustrate the ātman. When the house burns, the master comes out; the master is permanent and the house is impermanent. What fault is there? Baoliang states: Using worldly proverbs as evidence, worldly people also say 'the house is burning,' not 'the master is burning.'
