案僧亮曰：答第一難也。汝性亦無前後，而我因緣亦無先後，云何為難也。寶亮曰：破三證竟，答其上所執也。且一往總非，明不應為難也。

Sengliang remarks: This answers the first challenge. Your intrinsic nature also lacks prior and posterior, and my causes and conditions also lack prior and posterior; why make this challenge? Baoliang remarks: Having finished refuting the three proofs, he answers what was held above. For the moment, he broadly negates it all, clarifying that he should not have posed this challenge."
