案僧亮曰：答第七難。若笑是自性，則應常笑。如火體熱，則常熱也。不答第八虛空菟角，皆置答也。

Sengliang comments: This answers the seventh objection. If laughing were of intrinsic nature, then one should laugh constantly, just as the substance of fire is hot, so it is constantly hot. The eighth objection concerning empty space and rabbit horns is not answered; both are set aside without reply.
