案僧亮曰：經之流通有二人，自上弘廣所持、須跋以下，應付囑阿難也，後文似爾。亦可理付弘廣，而文付阿難。寶亮曰：此下去正顯流通之意也。問阿難所在，有三緣：一欲顯阿難有八不思議之德、二為流通經、三為名須跋故。

Sengliang comments: There are two people for the propagation of the sūtra: from Hongguang above, what was retained, to Subhadra below, should be entrusted to Ānanda; the later text seems to be so. It may also be that the principle was entrusted to Hongguang, while the text was entrusted to Ānanda. Baoliang comments: From here on, it directly reveals the purpose of propagation. In asking where Ānanda is, there are three reasons: first, he wished to reveal that Ānanda has eight inconceivable virtues; second, for the propagation of the sūtra; third, for the sake of naming Subhadra.
