案僧宗曰：上句已問果，此下句問因也。下文答，以護法為因也。智秀曰：此第四問金剛身因也。

Sengzong states: The preceding line has already asked about the fruition; this lower line asks about the cause. The text below answers that protecting the Dharma is the cause. Zhixiu states: This is the fourth question, on the cause of the adamantine body.
