案僧亮曰：非唯自具萬行亦勝，處於濁世以化乎物，不為世法所污，如蓮華也。寶亮曰：信慧開發，不復障聖道也。智秀曰：第十八問經之力，能滅報障也。

Sengliang states: Not only does one possess the myriad practices oneself, but they are also superior; dwelling in a defiled world to convert beings, one is untainted by worldly dharmas, like a lotus blossom. Baoliang states: When faith and wisdom are unfolded, one is no longer obstructed from the noble path. Zhixiu states: The eighteenth question concerns the power of the sūtra to eradicate retribution obstacles.
