案僧宗曰：昔日密語，生人謬執。若無今教，何由遍達？廣佛隱言、宣顯深旨，生解由經，亦歎教也。曇纖曰：下文「今者如來欲為未來無量眾生作大明故，宣說如是大涅槃經。」答此問。

Sengzong states: In the past, esoteric words gave rise to people's erroneous attachments. Without the present teaching, by what means could they thoroughly penetrate them? Broadening the Buddha's concealed speech and openly declaring the profound purport, generating understanding through the sūtra—this also praises the teaching. Tanxian states: In the text below: "Now the Tathāgata wishes to provide great illumination for immeasurable sentient beings of the future, and therefore preaches such a Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra." This answers this question.
