9.14

案僧亮曰：大乘之法，不為一人守護之，方應無邊而流通也。僧宗曰：將答所問事，須誡而勅之。夫宗致幽玄，非輕心所受，雖復言指迦葉，而意在時眾也。

Sengliang states: The Dharma of the Mahāyāna is not protected for one person alone; only then should it flow boundless and circulate. Sengzong states: About to answer the matter inquired about, he must admonish and charge him. The central purport is profound and mysterious, not something to be received with a light mind; although the words are addressed to Kāśyapa, the intention is directed to the assembly present.
