案僧宗曰：非唯仰等諸佛，亦復同昔大士也。昔七處八會，說《華嚴》、《方廣》，于時十方大士雲集論義，亦甞作此問。

Sengzong states: Not only is he reverently equal to all Buddhas, he is also identical to the great beings of the past. Formerly, at the seven places and eight assemblies when the Avataṃsaka and Vaipulya were preached, at that time the great beings of the ten directions gathered like clouds to debate the doctrine, and they also once asked this question.
