9.96

案僧亮曰：菩薩以大悲為器、忘身濟物，自審無之法也。法瑤曰：不知求涅槃之方也。曇濟曰：慈戒為萬行之器，自知無也。僧宗曰：謂此身非受道器也。

Sengliang comments: A bodhisattva takes great compassion as the vessel, forgetting the self to save beings; they examine themselves and find they lack this method. Fayao says: They do not know the method of seeking nirvāṇa. Tanji says: Compassion and precepts are the vessel for the myriad practices; they know themselves to lack them. Sengzong says: It means this body is not a vessel for receiving the Way.
