Fayao states: Knowing that those who possess the Way are superior to oneself, one honors them with respect; knowing those who are inferior to oneself, one rescues them with compassion. These are the essential practices of the seven goods that bring the four immeasurables to completion; hence they must be elucidated. Baoliang states: The seventh is based on the practitioners of good having superiority and inferiority, excellence and deficit, as listed in the sūtra: among practitioners of good, the inferior are low and the superior are venerable. Once possessing these seven dharmas, one can adapt freely and comfortably to beings, like a wish-fulfilling jewel.
