Sengliang notes: This is the sixth intention: not looking down on the coarse while craving the fine. Why? The Buddha had previously instructed Cunda to prepare an offering. Because his offering was coarse, he did not dare present it to the Buddha and merely remained in his seat; only upon seeing that [the Buddha] would not accept the offerings of others did he rise to make his presentation. Fayao says: 'Setting aside his bodily decorum' means setting aside the ways of his craft and rising afresh with a reverent demeanor that venerates the Dharma. Sengzong says: Since he had a moment of prayerful entreaty, he should set aside ordinary, relaxed deportment.
