Sengzong states: Within the expanded praise of the sūtra, there are also the benefit of cause and the benefit of fruition, the meaning being no different from before. Having boarded proper understanding, one further converts the ignorant and dark, causing them to open the wisdom eye, just as a blind person is guided with eyes. Baoliang states: This clarifies the internal fruition to encourage faith. If one does not see this sūtra, then even if living together, one is like someone blind from birth, unaware that this is the cause of buddhahood.
