People say: "The 'Chapter on the Assemblies' expands upon the previous manifest fruit." This, too, is not so. Why is it not so? Below, in the "Chapter on the Assemblies," seven questions are fully answered: answering the first question clarifies the Buddha's eternal abiding, which could indeed be called the fruit; answering the latter six questions all clarifies causal practice—how could this be called expanding upon the previous manifest fruit? They also say: "The two chapters 'Lion's [Roar]' and 'Kāśyapa' expand upon the previous direct cause." This, too, is not so. Based on the questions and answers below, the subsequent "Kāśyapa Chapter" actually clarifies the Tathāgata's skilful means of virtuous function, being able to benefit icchantikas, and is not for the sake of revealing the nature; how could this be called expanding upon the previous direct cause? Investigating and examining by these means, the six divisions are definitely wrong.
