1.75

自下第四不果却住，初先不果、後悲却住。於中初法，次以喻顯。供佛善根可愛如子；如來不受，名病喪亡；所設虛棄，名送塚間；無善復本，名為歸還；施心不申，名為悵恨，下合可知。

From here below, the fourth [part] is that without success they withdrew and stayed: first without success, and later grieving, they withdrew and stayed. In this, first is the dharma, and next it is clarified through an analogy. The roots of good from offering to the Buddha are beloved like a son; the Tathāgata not accepting is called dying of illness; what was prepared being abandoned in vain is called sending him to the cemetery; having no goodness with which to return to the root is called going back home; the intention to give not being fulfilled is called regret and resentment. The application below can be understood.
