上來第二辯因顯果。自下第三結別其相。「是名上流」是總結也。下彰其別。「欲入無色則不能得五階修禪，若修薰禪則呵無色」，為是定別。

The above was the second [part], discerning the causes and revealing the results. From here below, the third concludes by distinguishing their marks. 'These are called upward-flowing ones' is the general conclusion. Below, it reveals their differences: 'If one wishes to enter the formless realm, one cannot attain the cultivation of dhyāna through five stages; if one cultivates permeating dhyāna, one censures the formless realm'—this is the definitive distinction.
