10.78

第二番中，「人言虛空即是住處」舉他所立。「若有住」下，徵為色法。「而一切」下，徵為無常。「三世所攝」徵為三世。「虛空亦」下，明空是常，三世不攝，翻破前執。常非三世即非色法，云何言處？「若說處」下，結以顯非。

In the second turn: "People say that space is a dwelling place" cites what the opponent posits. From "If there is a dwelling..." onward interrogates it as a material dharma. From "Yet all..." onward interrogates it as impermanent. "Subsumed under the three periods of time" interrogates it as belonging to the three periods of time. From "Space is also..." onward clarifies that space is eternal and not subsumed under the three periods of time, overturning and refuting the prior attachment. What is eternal and not of the three periods of time is not a material dharma; how could one call it a place? From "If one says it is a place..." onward concludes by demonstrating its falsity.
