下次就佛辯迹難尋，先舉偈文，釋有四句：一直辯出難尋法體，所謂涅槃；二「無日月」下明難尋相，離一切相故不可尋；三彰涅槃是如來處，常存不變，欲就此處開解脫德，故說為處；四明佛趣入，以是涅槃是如來處，故今至此而般涅槃。

Next, he differentiates that tracks are difficult to seek with respect to the Buddha. First citing the text of the verse, the explanation has four lines: first, directly identifying the essence of the dharma that is difficult to seek, namely nirvāṇa; second, from "without sun or moon" onward, clarifying the characteristics of being difficult to seek—because it is free from all marks, it cannot be sought; third, revealing that nirvāṇa is the Tathāgata's abode, eternally abiding and unchanging—wishing to unfold the virtues of liberation with respect to this abode, it is therefore spoken of as an abode; fourth, clarifying the Buddha's entry into it—because this nirvāṇa is the Tathāgata's abode, he therefore now arrives here and enters parinirvāṇa.
