Next, to explain the inversion of suffering, 'Conceiving suffering within bliss is called inversion' states the general heading. Next, it explains it at length, within which there are three clauses: First, being deluded about bliss and calculating it as suffering: 'Bliss is the Tathāgata' clarifies that about which one is deluded, saying 'Suffering is the Tathāgata's impermanence' clarifies what is established, and from 'If one says' downward quotes and concludes it. Second, refuting bliss and establishing suffering: 'The Tathāgata is eternally abiding; this is called bliss' conversely grants and establishes it; 'If I say permanent, how could he again enter into nirvāṇa?' adduces the responsive manifestation to challenge and refute it. Third, challenging and refuting [the view of] non-suffering to establish that the Buddha is not bliss: 'If one says it is not suffering' adduces what the other establishes; 'Why abandon the body and take extinction?' adduces the responsive manifestation to challenge and refute it.
