3.315

上明有性，下教證入。於中有二：一教三歸趣入之始、二「更為汝說入如來藏」下教示中道趣入之終。前中，如來先教趣入，「迦葉白佛我知問」下迦葉奉行，如來述讚。前中有三：一因迦葉請，略教趣入：二「爾時迦葉復說偈」下迦葉彰己不識真歸，亦復不知歸之所以，反依昔別，如來重教；三「迦葉白佛我亦歸」下迦葉彰己相實通歸，佛教甄簡。

Above explained that the nature exists; below instructs on entering its realization. Here there are two parts: first, instructing on the three refuges as the beginning of proceeding toward entry; second, from "I will further explain to you entry into the tathāgatagarbha" down, instructing on the Middle Way as the culmination of proceeding toward entry. In the former, the Tathāgata first instructs on proceeding toward entry; from "Kāśyapa said to the Buddha: 'I know how to ask...'" down, Kāśyapa puts it into practice, and the Tathāgata praises him. In the former there are three parts: first, due to Kāśyapa's request, he briefly instructs on proceeding toward entry; second, from "At that time, Kāśyapa further spoke verses..." down, Kāśyapa reveals that he does not recognize the true refuge and also does not know the reason for taking refuge, mistakenly relying on the past distinctions, so the Tathāgata instructs again; third, from "Kāśyapa said to the Buddha: 'I also take refuge...'" down, Kāśyapa reveals that he takes refuge in both characteristics and reality, and the Buddha differentiates and selects.
