問曰：是中教驗四依，何故乃云化作佛身？蓋乃舉上類下故爾，又亦舉昔類今故爾。化作佛身尚須不畏，何況四依？

Question: In this [passage], instruction is given to test and verify the four reliances; why then does it say transforming into the body of a buddha? [Answer:] This is merely adducing the higher to analogize the lower, and also adducing the past to analogize the present. If transforming into the body of a buddha still requires not fearing, how much more so the four reliances?
