4.225

自下第三重復顯前初段中義，明前疑人久後思量得解所由，由聞涅槃祕藏故解。於中初辯，「如彼」已下舉喻對顯，聲聞、凡夫後成佛時如彼長者知乳一相而不怪也。「何以故」下釋前知性同一所由，由斷煩惱。

From here below, the third [part] clarifies once again the meaning in the first part above, explaining the reason why those doubting persons earlier attain understanding after long deliberation: they understand because of hearing the secret treasury of nirvāṇa. Therein it first elucidates; from "like that" below, an analogy is raised to demonstrate: when śrāvakas and ordinary persons later become buddhas, they are like that elder who knows the single characteristic of the milk and is not astonished. From "why is this?" below explains the reason for previously knowing that the nature is identical: because of severing afflictions.
