請辭之中，四句為偈，有七偈半，隨行說偈有十五偈，前十四偈是其正請。正請之中，初之兩偈舉彼如來能知以請，次二舉佛本願以請，次八舉佛能益以請，後二舉佛不滅以請。明能益中，初之四偈明諸眾生不知有損，後之四偈明佛能益。前四偈中，初二正明不知之損，後二出其所不知事。後四偈中，初二明佛當能利益，後二明佛已能利益。餘皆可知。

Within the words of supplication, with four lines per verse, there are seven and a half verses; counted according to lines there are fifteen verses. The first fourteen verses are the actual supplication. Within the actual supplication: the first two verses bring up that Tathāgata's ability to know to make the supplication; the next two bring up the Buddha's original vows to make the supplication; the next eight bring up the Buddha's ability to benefit to make the supplication; the last two bring up the Buddha's non-extinction to make the supplication. In explaining his ability to benefit: the first four verses explain that sentient beings do not know what is harmful; the latter four verses explain that the Buddha is able to benefit. Within the former four verses: the first two directly explain the harm of not knowing; the latter two set forth the matters they do not know. Within the latter four verses: the first two explain that the Buddha will be able to benefit; the latter two explain that the Buddha has already been able to benefit. The rest are all intelligible.
