第二段中，明己過去為無上勝如來弟子，受持是經，迴向菩提，以是力故，今無諸病。先明所修，「我從是」下彰其所離。於中明離三對因果：「煩惱業緣」是其惡因，「惡道」苦果；「誹謗法等」復是惡因，「受黃門等」復是苦果；「反逆父等」復是惡因，「諸苦」是果。此諸過患皆未曾有。

In the second section, [the text] clarifies that in the past [the Buddha] was a disciple of the Tathāgata Anuttarajina (Supreme Victor), received and upheld this sūtra, and dedicated [the merit] to bodhi; by the power of this, he is now free of all illnesses. First it clarifies what he cultivated; from 'I, starting from that [time]...' onward, it reveals what he was freed from. Therein it clarifies being freed from three pairs of cause and effect: 'afflictive karmic conditions' is an evil cause, and the 'evil destinies' is its suffering fruit; 'slandering the Dharma and so forth' is again an evil cause, and 'being born as a eunuch (paṇḍaka) and so forth' is again its suffering fruit; 'rebelling against one's father and so forth' is again an evil cause, and 'all the sufferings' is its fruit. None of these faults and tribulations ever occurred [to him].
