In the second reconciliation, Kāśyapa first asks, and below the Buddha first praises him and then reconciles it for him. He first reconciles what was said formerly: "As you have said, it is not a non-cause, but the aggregates..." From here onward, he reconciles and harmonizes the present statement: because craving is predominant, he speaks of it specifically. Therein, he is first general; from "For example" downward, he is specific. In the specific part, there are three clauses: first, clarifying that the defilements follow after the mind of craving; second, clarifying that fetters and karma rely on and abide in the mind of craving; third, clarifying that the mind of craving moistens and gives birth to the retribution of suffering. In all of them, he first sets up a metaphor and then joins it, which can be known.
