「菩薩若從聲聞如來得聞是經」是初段也，此乃菩薩傳佛教法名曰聲聞，非小乘人，如《法華》說「我等今者真是聲聞」，以佛道聲令一切聞，此應似彼。

'If a bodhisattva hears this sūtra from a śrāvaka or a Tathāgata' is the first section. This refers to a bodhisattva transmitting the Buddha's teaching, who is called a śrāvaka, not a person of the Hīnayāna. Just as the *Lotus Sūtra* says, 'We now are truly śrāvakas,' causing all to hear the voice of the Buddha's path; this should be similar to that.
