前中復二：一說七善以為梵行，明化他智；第二宣說四無量心以為梵行，明化他心。有人別說知見覺等以為梵行。是所不應，下因引證乘以論之，云何即說別為梵行？

The first [subdivision] again has two: first, stating the seven excellences as pure practice, explaining the wisdom for transforming others; second, proclaiming the four immeasurables as pure practice, explaining the mind for transforming others. Some separately explain knowing, seeing, awakening, and so forth as pure practice. This is inappropriate; below, following the cited proof, it is discussed in connection with the vehicles—how could that be separately explained as pure practice?
