In the latter two categories, there is first an inquiry and then an explanation, as can be known. From "for this reason" onward determines it with reference to persons: "For this reason they are called the four immeasurables; they are not what all śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas know, but are the realm of all buddha-tathāgatas" distinguishes the Mahāyāna as different from the Hīnayāna. Because having "both an object and sovereignty" resides in buddhas and bodhisattvas and not in others, it is not known by the two vehicles, but is the realm of the Tathāgata. From "such four" onward distinguishes the Hīnayāna as different from the Mahāyāna. Within this, first saying, "Although śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas are called immeasurable, being few they are not worth speaking of" demarcates the Hīnayāna as different from the Mahāyāna; "all buddhas and bodhisattvas, however, can be called immeasurable and boundless" clarifies the Mahāyāna as different from the Hīnayāna. The acceptance and understanding can be known.
