下佛先嘆，「說偈」下答。答中還三：一對上後難辯，明慈心有實果報；二「夫修慈者實非妄」下對上初難，明其慈觀是實不虛；三「迦葉白：菩薩思惟悉是真」下對前第二辯，明慈心有實利益。

Below, the Buddha first praises him, and from "speaking the verses" onward, answers. In the answer there are also three parts: first, responding to the last objection above, he explains that the mind of benevolence has a real fruit and retribution; second, from "One who cultivates benevolence is truly not engaged in false imagination..." onward, responding to the first objection above, he explains that the contemplation of benevolence is real and not futile; third, from "Kāśyapa addressed [the Buddha]: 'The bodhisattva's contemplations are all real...'" onward, responding to the second objection above, he explains that the mind of benevolence has real benefits.
