就前難中，具應有四：一問菩薩住一子地，既能如是，佛昔云何為仙豫王斷絕爾許婆羅門命？二問爾時得此地不？三問爾時若得此地，應護眾生，何故斷命？四問爾時若不得此極愛之地，何因緣故不隨地獄？准答應爾，但今文中唯有三問，略無第二，文中雖無，理必須之。

Regarding the former objection, there should fully be four [points]: first, asking that if the bodhisattva dwelling on the ground of the only child can indeed be like this, why did the Buddha in the past, as King Senya, terminate the lives of so many Brahmins? Second, asking whether at that time he had attained this ground or not? Third, asking that if at that time he had attained this ground, he should have protected sentient beings, so why did he terminate their lives? Fourth, asking that if at that time he had not attained this ground of supreme love, due to what cause and condition did he not fall into hell accordingly? According to the reply, it should be thus; however, in the present text there are only three questions, with the second being omitted; although it is absent in the text, logically it must be there.
