5.98

次觀病苦，於中初問，次辯，後結。辯中有三：一初五復次廣顯病過；二「病因緣」下明其六種起病因緣，「謂苦惱」等是其現緣，「破壞浮囊、撥撤橋梁」是其過因，過為此事故現有病；三「亦能」却下明其所損，所損有六。就後結中，先結病苦，後結能觀。

Next is the contemplation of the suffering of illness, wherein there is first an interrogation, next an explanation, and finally a conclusion. Within the explanation there are three parts: First, the initial five 'moreovers' extensively reveal the faults of illness. Second, from 'causes and conditions of illness' downward, it clarifies its six kinds of causes and conditions that give rise to illness: 'suffering and distress' and so forth are its present conditions, and 'destroying the floating bag, tearing down bridges' are its past causes; having done these things in the past, one presently has illness. Third, from 'can also' downward, it clarifies what it harms, of which there are six kinds. In the subsequent conclusion, it first concludes the suffering of illness, and then concludes that which is capable of contemplation.
