下次破其定入地獄，舉彼先王類以破之。先王作罪悔而不入，王今悔愧，云何定入？文中有四：一明頻婆曾於往昔遊行獵鹿殺害仙人、二明仙人臨終生怒遂發惡願、三王聞悔愧、四舉類世王。是王如是，尚得輕受，不入地獄，況王不爾，而當地獄受果報也。

Next, it refutes his definitely falling into hell, adducing that former king as an analogy to refute it. The former king committed a crime, repented, and did not enter [hell]; the king now is remorseful and repentant—how could he definitely enter? In the text there are four parts: first, clarifying that Bimbisāra in the past went hunting deer and killed a ṛṣi; second, clarifying that the ṛṣi at the brink of death gave rise to anger and thereupon made an evil vow; third, the king heard and was remorseful and repentant; fourth, adducing the analogy to King Ajātaśatru. If such a king still received it lightly and did not enter hell, how much more so should the king, who is not like that, not receive the retribution in hell?
