破無辜中，「如王所言父無辜者」牒王上言，下對破之。「云何言無」對以總徵，「夫有罪」下對以廣破，有罪有報、無惡無報汎立道理，「汝父無辜，云何有報」以理徵破。

In refuting innocence: "As the king said, that the father was innocent" quotes the king's statement above, and below refutes it in response. "Why say he was innocent?" responds with a general interrogation. From "one who has guilt" downward, it responds with an extensive refutation: establishing the general principle that having guilt brings retribution, and having no evil brings no retribution; "your father was innocent, so why was there retribution?" uses principle to interrogate and refute.
