In the second turn, there are five distinct clauses: 1. Teaching the contemplation of impermanence: "Form is impermanent" discerns the principle directly upon the mark; "the causes and conditions of form are also impermanent" analogizes the cause by means of the effect; "arising from impermanent causes, how could form be permanent?" reveals the effect by means of the cause. "Up to consciousness being impermanent" discerns the principle directly upon the marks, meaning that from the aggregate of feeling up to consciousness, they are impermanent; "the causes and conditions of consciousness are also impermanent" analogizes the cause by means of the effect; arising from impermanent causes, "how could consciousness be permanent?" reveals the effect by means of the cause. 2. Using impermanence to reveal the meaning of suffering. 3. Using the meaning of suffering to reveal the meaning of emptiness. 4. Using the meaning of emptiness to reveal non-self. 5. Using impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and non-self to establish non-killing.
