6.363

上來第一佛為說法，自下第二明阿闍世聞法滅罪，歡喜發心。於中有五：一阿闍世如教正觀、二「即白佛」下歡喜自慶、三「我今見佛以是見」下重起願心、四「語耆婆」下重自喜慶、五「以種種」下慶蒙法利供養讚嘆迴向發願。初段可知。

The above was the first [part], the Buddha preaching the Dharma for him. From here below, the second [part] clarifies that Ajātaśatru, having heard the Dharma, eradicated his guilt, rejoiced, and gave rise to the [bodhi-]mind. Within this there are five [points]: 1. Ajātaśatru correctly contemplates as taught; 2. from "he then addressed the Buddha" downward, he rejoices and congratulates himself; 3. from "I now see the Buddha; by this seeing..." downward, he renews his aspiration; 4. from "speaking to Jīvaka" downward, he rejoices in himself once more; 5. from "with various..." downward, rejoicing in receiving the benefit of the Dharma, he makes offerings, praises, dedicates merit, and makes vows. The first passage can be understood.
